Roundtable for Legal Management Professionals

Please join your ALA colleagues for a roundtable discussion on topics that are relevant to Silicon Valley Chapter members.

Suggested topics include:

  • Telecommuting / Work From Home Policies - What are your formal/informal policies? Do you have separate exempt/non-exempt policies? If you have a policy, what are the pros and cons? How do you handle supervision of non-exempt staff and compensation issues?  Do you have flextime policies that are attractive to non-exempt staff? Are these policies written?
  • Recruiting Attorneys - At what point is your firm recruiting law students? Are firms bringing 1Ls into their summer program?  Are firms sending offer letters to those who have been accepted into law school? Do you have a process for staying in touch with law students after they return to law school?
  • Recruiting Staff - Where do you post job openings? What is working to recruit and retain staff?
  • Staff Appreciation - Ideas
  • Employee Office Perks - Ideas
  • Teambuilding and Morale Improvement - Ideas
  • Summer Programs - How many firms are having formal summer programs? Who manages the program? What types of events are being held?
  • Cyber Security – Has your firm undergone an audit? Do you carry cyber-security insurance?
  • Performance Reviews - Have you done away with annual reviews?

If you have another topic you would like to add, please send your idea to Shelley Strong today.
